This was another historical romance I thoroughly enjoyed. From the very beginning, the story pulled me in with its charm, humor, and wonderfully written characters. The character building here is fantastic! Both of the leads feel distinct, layered, and easy to root for, which made the romance all the more satisfying.
A Slow Fall Worth Savoring

One of my favorite parts of this book was the gradual emotional development between the characters. The slow fall felt natural and heartfelt, allowing their relationship to build through shared experiences, vulnerability, and plenty of delightful moments along the way. Watching their connection grow was incredibly rewarding and made the romantic payoff feel earned. The way the characters and story is written, seems like a natural progression to the spicy scenes and not that the scenes were tossed in to make it fit a demographic.
Wit, Heart, and Memorable Characters
Tessa Dare has a writing style that balances warmth, humor, and emotion beautifully. The dialogue feels lively, the emotional beats land well, and the story maintains a lovely sense of fun without losing its romantic depth. It’s the kind of historical romance that reminds me why I enjoy the genre so much.
